Stafford Education Foundation Announces Four Board Members

STAFFORD, Va. - Virginir -- The Stafford Education Foundation (SEF) is pleased to announce four new board members who will each help support the non-profit's work to impact and advance education in Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) through charitable activities that support sound educational programs and practices.

"We're excited to welcome our new board members, who bring diverse expertise and experience to our work," said SEF President Stephanie Johnson. "These new board members will help provide strategic direction for continued growth around SEF's mission to positively impact Stafford schools through innovative projects, student scholarships, student showcases, and community collaboration."

The new board members began their two-year terms with SEF December 1, 2021. The four new board member are:

• Dr. Holly Feliciano

Dr. Feliciano earned her PhD in 2018 in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. Her published dissertation focused on achievement data in charter school students and traditional public school students. Currently, Dr. Feliciano is a researcher, writer, and editor working with Squared Away, LLC.

• Vernon Green Jr.

Green is a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army. Maintaining his passion of serving God and people Vernon established GCubed Enterprises, Inc. in 2014; a well-rounded SBA 8(a) certified, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Minority Owned, Small Business focused on IT and Cybersecurity with an emphasis on "Keeping People and Business Securely Connected."

Vernon also established G3 Community Services; a nonprofit providing services and support to people in his community through empowerment, coaching, mentorship, and education.

• Chandra Gore

Gore has worked with entrepreneurs to help them create foundations for success through her boutique consulting and public relations firm, Chandra Gore Consulting. Gore also heads a production company, SCM Productions, which produces live comedic events. Her community organization, The Urban Flight Foundation brings voters and other community information to the underserved.  Gore is an author of several books, moderator, and speaker on topics such as Business Strategies, Media Relations, and Entrepreneurship.

• Anita Uyehara

Uyehara has nearly thirty years of leadership in the philanthropic sector, spanning environmental, social justice, and education sectors. Passionate about effecting change at the grassroots level, Uyehara began her career advocating for environmental protections in the DC/MD/VA area. She currently serves as the Director of Development for Christian Relief Services Charities (CRSC), a group of affiliated charities that serve the socioeconomically disadvantaged communities across Native American reservations, Appalachian communities, and numerous African nations. In this role, she directs the $10M+ annual fundraising efforts as well as the organization's marketing and communication.
