Grant from Virginia Department of Veterans Services Expands Access for Veterans to Document Their Military Service
QUANTICO, Va. - Virginir -- In recognition of Presidents Day, Words of Veterans is highlighting its state-supported initiative to preserve the personal stories of U.S. military Veterans across the Commonwealth. Through a grant awarded by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services ("DVS"), eligible Veterans in Virginia can document their military experiences and receive a professionally printed book of their story.
Presidents Day is a time to reflect on American leadership and the constitutional foundation of the nation. Words of Veterans believes that honoring the presidency also means recognizing the service members who have defended the country under every Commander in Chief.

Founded by U.S.M.C. Veteran Alex K. Sebby, Words of Veterans was created to ensure that U.S. Military Service stories are not lost to time.
With millions of Veterans nationwide - many of whom have never formally documented their service - the organization aims to make storytelling accessible, structured, and lasting. Participants may also choose to share their stories publicly, contributing to a growing archive of firsthand military history.
The Presidents Day observance serves as a reminder that American history is shaped not only by elected officials, but by those who answered the call to serve.
Eligible participants include U.S. Veterans, Active Duty service members, and immediate Department of Defense family members residing in Virginia.
