Spark Industries Launches Aerospace-Grade "Over-Barrel" Muzzle System for Modern Sporting Rifles

STAFFORD, Va. - Virginir -- Spark Industries Manufacturing, a veteran-owned company, today announced commercial availability of its first two firearms-accessory products—the Spark-HAVOC™ Over-Barrel Compensator and the Spark-SHOCKWAVE™ hybrid muzzle brake/compensator. Both devices are manufactured entirely in the USA with aerospace-grade direct-metal-laser-sintering (DMLS) in Inconel 718 or 316 Stainless Steel, bringing jet-engine materials and fluid-dynamic engineering to the sporting-rifle market.

"We miniaturized the gas-flow science we use in turbine engines and placed it at the muzzle," said founder Dathan Salgado, an aeronautical engineer who led the ATHENA hybrid-engine program. "Shooters get suppressor-level recoil control without the sideways concussion of legacy brakes."

Together, HAVOC and Shockwave systems tackle the three biggest pain points of close-quarters shooting—side blast, over-gassing, and suppressor heat load—while providing shorter and more weight balanced rifle packaging. Parabolic geometry vectors exhaust forward, trimming ear-level impulse and shielding teammates from concussion. Spark notes that this flow path was impossible until the latest generation of laser-metal additive manufacturing could print the geometry as one seamless part.
