BEDFORD, Va. - Virginir -- The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) is pleased to announce that the Smyth Companies, LLC (Smyth) facility in Bedford, Virginia, has successfully achieved recertification under the SGP certification program, reaffirming the company's continued commitment to sustainable printing practices and responsible manufacturing.
SGP certification is the printing industry's leading sustainability certification, recognizing facilities that demonstrate a comprehensive approach to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and continuous improvement. Recertification confirms that Smyth-Bedford continues to meet the rigorous standards required by the SGP program and remains committed to advancing sustainability throughout its operations.
"Smyth has long demonstrated leadership in responsible print manufacturing," said Michael Branna, Chair of the SGP Board of Directors. "Their continued investment in sustainable practices and operational transparency reflects the type of industry leadership the SGP program is designed to recognize."

The Bedford facility first achieved SGP certification in 2019 and has maintained its certification through ongoing improvements in environmental performance, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. By achieving recertification, the facility reaffirms its commitment to measuring, managing, and improving the sustainability of its operations.
"Maintaining SGP certification is an important part of our commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices not only in Bedford but all Smyth facilities," said Julie Roemen, Executive Vice President of Human Resources. "Our team is proud of our sustainability progress over the last seven years. We look forward to building on the progress we've made to reduce environmental impact and operate in a way that supports our employees, our customers, and our community."
SGP certification requires facilities to evaluate and continuously improve performance across key areas including energy use, waste reduction, materials management, and workplace safety. Certified facilities must also demonstrate ongoing transparency and accountability through regular audits and reporting.
