MERP Systems teamed up with DPR to create an immediate solution that supports long-term sustainability.
HERNDON, Va. - Virginir -- In today's fast-paced world, organizations often struggle to balance compliance, efficiency, and sustainability. The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) partnered with MERP Systems to revamp its pesticide registration processes, leading to the development of the California Pesticide Electronic Submission Tracking (CalPEST) System.
This modern platform integrated over 20 legacy systems, enhancing efficiency and streamlining roles across departments. MERP Systems played a vital role in this transformation by:
- Improving Efficiency: The new technological infrastructure allows simultaneous reviews of applications, significantly reducing processing times and enhancing evaluations of health and environmental risks.
- Enhancing Transparency: CalPEST provides real-time updates on application statuses, improving communication between DPR teams and external stakeholders.
- Supporting Sustainability Goals: The streamlined process helps facilitate quicker access to lower-risk products, aligning with the Sustainable Pest Management Roadmap.

- Future-Proofing: With planned enhancements for 2025, MERP Systems will ensure that CalPEST remains a valuable tool for DPR's evolving needs.
DPR Director Julie Henderson noted, "CalPEST represents DPR's core values of accountability and continuous improvement." MERP Systems is proud to contribute to the transformation that the CalPEST System will bring to DPR, enhancing its ability to meet and sustain its unique regulatory needs and commitments, both now and in the future.
According to Sudhee Maddur, VP at MERP, "A broad collaborative team worked together on this important initiative, adhering to industry best practices to build a tailored multi-functional application suite of functionality to modernize and digitize a vitally important process. Focusing on stakeholder needs and product vision guided the team to deliver a robust product supported by Microsoft Dynamics 365 on the Power Platform Architecture. We are proud to reach this important milestone and are thankful to the myriad groups of dedicated professionals who weathered the challenges and helped us to deliver."
CalPEST not only modernizes the pesticide registration process but also contributes to California's goals for sustainable pest management, demonstrating MERP Systems' commitment to driving lasting change in government agencies.
