Great Clips salons in Reston and Fairfax will donate several hundred dollars' worth of new cosmetic supplies to the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) in support of their current campaign for domestic violence victims and survivors. The campaign is led by Ms. Saly Fayez, Director of the Victim Services Division at FCPD.
Media are invited to Great Clips in Fairfax on Tuesday, October 29th for the presentation of the beauty supplies to Ms. Fayez. There will be an opportunity for photos.
Great Clips will provide the supplies in 24 gift bags which FCPD will distribute to domestic violence victims.

BACKGROUND:
This unique approach to addressing domestic violence in the community stems from a heart-wrenching case worked by the Victim Services Division.
"This is the first year we are doing this," said Saly Fayez, Director of the Victim Services Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. "Collecting beauty items by no means diminishes the severity of domestic violence or the critical importance of addressing its physical, emotional, and financial impacts."

This initiative is driven by the voices of victims themselves, ensuring that their needs and experiences shape the support offered. It acknowledges the complex situations many victims face, including the desire to shield their loved ones from distress while navigating their healing journey.
