ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Virginir -- The Haiti Micah Project is pleased to announced that its Founder and President, The Reverend Joseph Murrenz Constant, is to be among the recipients of the 2022 United States President's Lifetime Achievement Award. The Office of the President's Volunteer Service Awards is honoring Reverend Constant for his "remarkable commitment and contributions to improving the lives of others."
The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President's Volunteer Service Award in order to recognize the important role of volunteers in America's strength and national identity. In addition, the award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action.
Reverend Constant, a Haitian-American Episcopal priest, founded the Haiti Micah Project in 2005 as a faith based organization committed to addressing the needs of hundreds of impoverished and uneducated children in Mirebalais, Haiti, a city located in the Central Plateau. The organization provides shelter, food and educational opportunities for impoverished children in Haiti. In its seventeen years of work, the organization has helped hundreds of children lead happier and healthier lives.
